Our Lodge, Our Community
We are the Lodge of a Whispering Earth and stand as a small part of the People of the Four Winds.
In a very real sense, our community has created itself which is as it should be.
Thanks to the wisdom of both the Tribal Nations of North America as well as other indigenous tribes of the world, we have learned that the human tribes do not and can not exist separately from the Natural World.
We have come to realize that for the world to survive, we humans have to realize that we are all part of something much larger and are ourselves woven into the fabric of the Natural World.
One of the problems facing the world today stems from the simple fact that humans have forgotten these lessons and have severed many of the ties that once bound us to Mother Earth.
Humans feel they are above all other life on this planet when that is not so. We are woven into the same fabric with all other life.
As a lodge among the People of the Four Winds, we recognize the fact that our human members should be one with the Natural World … reestablishing out connections with it.
We also recognize the fact that a sense of community …. being among like minded people … can help give us strength.
Likewise, it can be beneficial at times to build the group around the sense of community instead of something specific (like one strict religious path) as this acknowledges not only the individual but that often a person’s spiritual path can become more individualized.
After all, two trees may grow in similar ways but they never grow precisely the same.
At present, our community is small at present and centers around a small collection of family and friends … this is the human portion of the grove.
Through the Mother Earth … through the sacred places of the natural world … we are connected to our brothers and sisters of the Natural World — all Tribes of the Earth.
The Whispering Earth is all around us and wherever we need it to be … remember, all of the Natural World and Mother Earth are sacred.
It falls to our human members to help care for and protect these places, making sure the life within it continues to remain healthy and grow strong.
In return, the Earth itself shares with us its knowledge … teaching us in many ways on many levels.
It whisperings to us if only we take the time to listen.
All we have to do is to observe, listen and become one with the Natural World.
